Hi dear Tara, wow! this is a truly powerful image. And what you wrote is powerful as well. It made me realize how much stress people in American culture put themselves through, Some people go bankrupt or max out credit cards trying to meet the demands to buy and give and do and be. It got so bad for me that I finally told all my friends and family that I wasn't going to "DO" Christmas anymore. And I know that may sound soooo extreme, but do you know what? I was so surprised when people I knew started doing the same thing. Or they, like us just had get togethers (potlucks) and NO NO NO present sharing. It just eases all this burden. I no longer experience any stress at the holidays and it SUCH a relief. and yet I enjoy friends and family if they are in town. And my husband and I make sure to have special time, which is so precious.
Now, I'm sure it is harder if you have kids. That would be another whole kettle of fish. LOL!!
Hugs,
Robin
